WSI23-182-Case-5
66F, liver lesion
Focal necrotic parenchyma with numerous fungal forms. Fungi consist predominantly of pseudohyphal forms with occasional septate hypha and few large, rounded forms that may represent condidia/germ tubes. Branching hyphae are rare and haphazard. No definitive budding yeast forms. Morphology is not typical of Aspergillus, Mucor, dimorphic, or dematiaceous fungi. Fungal speciation is indeterminate in this sample.
