Chromophobe renal cell carcinoma, eosinophilic variant
  • Chromophobe carcinomas represent 5-7% of adult renal epithelial tumors
  • Eosinophilic variant comprises ~40% of chromophobe carcinomas

Oncocytoma

  • 4-7% of adult renal epithelial tumors
  • Well circumscribed, unencapsulated, solid, homogenous, mahogany or brownish yellow
  • Stellate central scar in larger lesions

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma

  • ~70% of adult renal epithelial tumors
  • Orange/yellow, circumscribed, solid and cystic mass; often hemorrhagic with areas of necrosis
