Myelolipoma
  • Well-circumscribed, unencapsulated
  • Glistening, variegated cut surface
  • Soft yellow areas (fatty component)
  • Firm red-brown areas (hematopoietic elements)
  • Hemorrhage and cystic change

Pheochromocytoma

  • Gray-pink cut surface
  • Hemorrhage
  • Cystic change
  • Circumferential rim of adrenal cortex

Leiomyosarcoma

  • Well-circumscribed
  • Firm gray-white with bulging cut surface
  • Hemorrhage, necrosis, cystic degeneration

Angiosarcoma

  • Well-circumscribed to ill-defined/ invasive
  • Solid and cystic
  • Tan-pink to yellow
  • Hemorrhage and necrosis

Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma

  • Bulky, irregularly shaped circumscribed
  • Heterogenous cut surface: red-brown to tan-yellow
  • Extensive necrosis, hemorrhage, and fibrosis
