Adenoid cystic carcinoma
- Malignant salivary gland tumor with myoepithelial and ductal differentiation.
- Primarily affects adults
- Histological patterns: tubular, cribriform, solid
- Hyalinized/myxoid/mucoid filled spaces
- Perineural invasion is almost universal (pain, facial palsy...)
- Characteristic molecular: t(6;9) MYB-NFIB
- MYB IHC can be useful but is not 100% specific
